The Case Against McCain

I happened to finally catch up on some NY Times reading, and caught the op-ed piece by Timothy Egan from two days ago called “Mount Rushmore or Less”.  In it he says that John McCain, who calls himself a “Teddy Roosevelt Republican” is anything but.  In case you aren’t familiar with Egan, he wrote a book called The Worst Hard Time, about the days of the Dust Bowl in the U.S.  I haven’t read it yet, but it’s on my list.  He also won a Pulitzer Prize in 2001.  These days he contributes to a blog on the NY Times called the Opinionator, and writes the occasional op-ed column.
