Confession:  I smoke cigarettes.  That makes me a member of a dying breed.  Ha ha, consider that my version of dark humor.  But here’s what happened:  last night, I was having a bit of Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream (the only brand I’ll eat), topped with a bit of Creme de Menthe, prior to going to sleep.    The only thing wrong with that totally satisfying picture was that I was out of chocolate syrup.  Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream, Creme de Menthe, AND chocolate syrup, is pretty much my definition of Nirvana.

So then, I dropped it.  Please note that most accidents happen within a mile or so of your home, and are most likely, in fact, to happen within your home.  Also please note that Murphy’s law applies to accidents within your home.  If you drop a stick of butter, it will not hit the floor with the waxed paper side down.  It will hit the floor butter side down.

So as I watched in horror, the Creme de Menthe spilled onto my next-to-last pack of cigarettes.  The open one.  Given Murphy’s Law rules, the Creme de Menthe could not have spilled onto the floor or onto some other spot on the coffee table.

Today, I learned that you can smoke green cigarettes, as long as you let them dry out.  Not bad actually.  A little sweet-tasting, but what the heck.  It beats spending another five bucks.

So….the truth is out! You are an ice cream elitist! lol! (You do know Haagen-Dazs is a made up name, to evoke some sort of Nordic superiority / exotic elitism?)

And do they even make half-gallons? Or just those elitist pints?

I am a populist when it come to ice cream. I prefer the “name” brands but I’ll buy almost anything on sale. Almost…

Week before last, it was Breyer’s Rocky Road. Last week, it was Blue Bell Rocky Road. I’ve enjoyed Rocky Road since I was a kid. I like most ice creams with chocolate and nuts and maybe fudge.

Cherry Chocolate Chip is another favorite. Also, Almond Joy: coconut ice cream with almond and dark chocolate. Can’t find it anymore.

Depending on the ice cream, I like to pour a small amount of Chocoloate Rum liqueur from the Virgin islands on top.

FUNNY! I know what you mean about Murphy’s law. I always do domething like break my last cigarette, or spill my last glass of wine on my last cigarette, since they are usually hand in hand. Of course, I am back on Chantix, so perhaps I can get out from under the cigarette law. Loved this post!

Thank you floridacat, and I’d like to point out that the entire Fakefamily is guided at all times by Murphy’s Law. If the cat or either of the three dogs have to throw up, it will not happen in a) the back yard, or b) the part of the house that has tiled floors (80% of the house). It will happen in the small part of the house that has carpet, or on the furniture.
And yes Anarchist, I did know that about Haagen Dazs…it has a fakename lol. I only buy vanilla and Butter Pecan, but there are two varieties I liked I can’t find any more either. I hate it when they do that.

I really liked their mago ice cream until i dicovered their mango sorbet. Yum! So in liking the sorbet over the ice cream make me an elitest?

Sorbet is definitely more elitist! Today I stocked up on the usual vanilla and butter pecan, and also decided to be adventurous and try the peach sorbet. Also I bought some coffee ice cream.
And yes, Anarchist, they do make quarts :) Although I’ve never seen a gallon…I saw some coconut thing too, you might want to check it out.

Wow…I hesistated to mention mango ice cream / sorbet because I thought no one would know about it! Winn Dixie used to (and still may) have mango ice cream. Next time I’m down on Tennessee at the Albertson’s, I may look into the WD on Tharpe and see if they still have that mango ice cream.

As for sorbet, a man of the people such as myself cannot afford sorbet! Well, at least psychologically I can’t afford it….lol! Now if I win the World Series of poker…lol!
